One of the youngest riders currently on the grid, the Manxman switched his attentions to the roads having been frustrated with the lack of opportunities in the British Championship. Switching from the Virgin Mobile R6 Cup to the pure roads was daunting but no one has adapted better than the 21-year old. It's easy to forget that his rear road race debut only came at the 2006 North West 200, but he's never looked back and 2007 was a fairytale year. Four top 8 finishes at the TT, including a brace of fifths, also saw him become the fastest ever Manxman with a lap well in excess of 126mph and he followed this up with two International podiums at the Ulster Grand Prix. |
A whole host of wins and podiums on the Irish roads also saw him take a superb Superbike-Supersport championship double and his rapid progress shows no sign of slowing down. A natural road racer without a doubt. Cummins has the ingredients to go all the way. He also lifted the prestigious Duke Road Race Rankings Championship for 2007.
Conor has recently signed for NCT Racing who had great success in 2007. Conor firmly believes in combining road racing with short circuit racing and he will be contesting the British Superstock Series in 2008. The TT remains his ultimate goal however, and who would bet against him stepping onto the TT podium!
